11 wks pregnant with severe sore throat, coughing up phlegm with no runny nose. help?

Have you been taking prenatal vitamins? As for what caused it, it could be anything... your immune system is beyond weak during pregnancy. I am 37 weeks and I have never had any sickly problems until now I have just started a cough, that's it, nothing else but a cough. I asked my Dr yesterday and he said that it is totally normal and that it is fine to take sudafed or even robitussin while pregnant. Feel better and good luck at the dr!
