Sks yugo 59 66?

I just bought an SKS yugo 59/m66 and was wondering if there is a way to check the gun's history? I have the serial number and all that stuff. I just bought it from a local gun store for 250 dollars. I'm thinking it might just be a replica or something, because it has Georgia VT engraved on the barrel. I can't say I know much about the history of the SKS.
