Hi i learnt the e harmonic minor scale (guitar) and i want to learn the a harmonic minor?

should i leran all the notes from the begining like i m going to learn a defferent scale or there is something i should do .... a friend told me that i have to play the e string notes on the a string but i didn t got him so far ....i need to know plzzzz help ^^
