How dependable are the 22R-TE (turbocharged) motors? The same as the 22RE's? Thanks in advance!!?

I'm interested in an '86 4Runner with the turbocharged 22r motor and was wondering if they are as dependable as the famous 22RE motors. Any input would surely save me some time and money in the long run. Thanks!
