How to file my taxes?

My husband and I separated in July of 2008. We have not lived together since September of 09. Last year we filed taxes together. This year, I have moved out of state, been here since July of 10. I only worked about 6 months in 10 and lost my job in June. I never changed my status on my taxes from married to single because I was unsure how exactly to go about it. Now I have received my W2 from my employer. I will admit its not much, but I'm unsure exactly how to file. I can't file jointly with him because we have no contact with each other and are not speaking or on good enough terms to do so. I've been told I can file single if we haven't lived under the same roof in the filing year, which is true in this case. Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks for your help.
