What does Obama mean when he says he hopes Rangel can "end his career with dignity"?

"Dignity" is to clue everyone involved in this mess that the president wants this to go away quietly so that no one remembers when it comes to mid term elections. Neither party has been immune to breach of ethics and corruption by some of their members, and Rangel needs to be punished and publicly so. No behind the doors deals, no special treatment, just admit the charges and pay the price both financially and politically. As to Maxine Walters, any "ethics" investigation will end up being weak and meaningless because she will cry that she is being targeted, like Rangel.
