Should religious groups be encouraging people to have more recreational instead of procreational ?

This would be because the world is in danger of being overpopulated. Soon, the oceans won’t produce fish due to acidification, cereal crops will produce less protein due to increased CO2 levels and drought and severe weather systems will cause more energy to be consumed which will increase the CO2 in the atmosphere. And all the time, the population keeps increasing. Should religious groups can the “ for procreation only” message and encourage people to have just for fun, not for procreation?
