Are shadow people demons?

I was visited by a shadow person about 2 weeks ago,first night was just a mist in the corner then fled,second night a full body apparition wearing a cloak, appeared at my bedside,poked my leg(had scabs there next day)said my name,then fled. Anybody with experience with shadow people or ghost please comment.
